Navajo Rug
88" x 50" Two Grey Hills weaving from the family of Mrs. Police Boy. Mrs. Police Boy (1865-1965, daughter of Sage Brush Hill Woman) was one of the earliest Master Weavers of Two Grey Hills. She had three daughters who were Master Weavers; Mary Yanabah Curley, Marie Police-Klah, and Police Girl (Glenabah). This weaving is most likely woven by one of those three ladies. (See pgs. 305 and 319 in "The Master Weavers" by Mark Winter). The design is an 8-point star centered storm pattern layout with a splash of red across the center line. Woven from all Native handspun and hand-carded long-staple Churro cross sheep wool. Circa 1930.
