Battle of Little Bighorn Springfield Carbine. 45-70 caliber. This first model 1873 Trapdoor Carbine is serial number 39531 - only 83 numbers away from 39448, a known carbine that was captured by the Indians at the battle. Number 39240 was tested and ballistically proven to be at the battle - only 291 numbers from the one offered. The close range of known, and turned in, carbines are so close to this serial number that it puts this in the "most likely" category of it being involved in the Battle of Little Bighorn. This carbine has correct first model features: long wrist stock with short comb, two tumble clicks on hammer, correct rear sight, smooth trigger, crossed arrow and eagle marks.
